Meet the Founder: Shamia J.

Born in Philadelphia and inspired by the bold style and energy of New York City, Shamia J. developed a love for fashion at an early age. Her creativity was sparked by the elegance and confidence of her Nana—especially the statement hats and shoes she wore and the belief that standing out should always be celebrated.

More than 12 years ago, Shamia founded MiOhMy Shoes with a clear mission: to provide stylish, comfortable footwear especially for individuals with not-so-common shoe sizes. Comfort was never an afterthought; it was always the foundation.

As her journey evolved, so did her vision.

Drawing from her professional experience as a registered radiologic technologist, Shamia gained a deeper understanding of the body as a connected system. Through years in healthcare, she saw firsthand how proper care, recovery, and support impact mobility, balance, and overall well-being from the feet and legs to the entire body.

That insight became the bridge between fashion and wellness.

MiOhMy Shoes grew into ShopMiOhMy, a lifestyle brand rooted in whole-body care, restoration, and intentional self-care. While the brand began with footwear, its purpose expanded to reflect a broader philosophy:
when you rejuvenate and refresh your entire body, everything benefits especially your feet.

In addition to building the brand, Shamia has manufactured two original sneaker designs and is currently developing two additional styles slated for release in 2026, reinforcing her hands-on involvement in product development and her commitment to comfort-driven design.
